Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms are a contract between you (the account holder) and Marqit Ltd (“Marqit”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the Marqit website and service. If you do not agree to them, please do not use Marqit.

2. Who can use Marqit

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Marqit is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian, who creates child profiles for the students who will use it. Children use Marqit under the supervision and responsibility of the account holder. By adding a child, you confirm you are authorised to do so and to agree to these terms on their behalf.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
• You may add child profiles up to any limit shown in the product, and you are responsible for the information you enter about each child.
• Tell us promptly at support@marqit.app if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Marqit for anything unlawful, or to upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes others’ rights.
• Share your account, attempt to circumvent usage limits, or access another user’s data.
• Probe, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or otherwise interfere with the service or its security.
• Enter personal data about a child beyond what is needed to use the service.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

5. AI marking — important limitations

Marqit marks answers using artificial intelligence and provides feedback to support revision. Marking is generated automatically and, while we work to make it accurate and examiner-aligned, it may contain errors and is not guaranteed to match an official examiner’s result. Marqit is a revision aid, not an official examination, accreditation, or guarantee of any grade. You should not rely on it as a substitute for formal assessment.

6. Content and intellectual property

Marqit, its software, and its exam content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use Marqit for revision. The answers a child submits remain theirs; by submitting them you allow us to process them to provide and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Plans, payment, and beta access

Marqit may be offered free of charge or under a paid plan. During any beta or trial period, the service is provided as-is and features may change or be withdrawn. Where paid plans apply, pricing and billing terms will be shown before you subscribe; payments are handled by our payment processor.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Marqit available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, suspend, or withdraw features, and we may carry out maintenance that temporarily affects availability.

9. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, Marqit is provided “as is”, and to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for outcomes arising from reliance on AI-generated marking or feedback.

10. Ending your use

You may stop using Marqit and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we stop offering the service. On closure we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify the account holder. Continuing to use Marqit after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. Questions about these terms can be sent to support@marqit.app.
